South Boston Waterfront Transportation Center Parking Structure – Boston, Massachusetts

As the precast engineer for the award-winning South Boston Waterfront Transportation Center, TRC Worldwide Engineering contributed to one of the most technically demanding parking facilities in the region.

Recognized as the 2019 CMAA New England Infrastructure Project of the Year, the 650,000-square-foot facility supports Boston’s rapidly expanding Seaport District with 1,500 vehicle spaces across four structured levels and nine total floors.

Situated on a constrained air rights parcel, the structure is built above an active interstate tunnel - an extraordinary feat of engineering. The majority of the garage is supported directly by the tunnel, while the vehicular and pedestrian bridges span over a live bus way, transforming a previously inaccessible zone into a multi-modal transportation hub.
