North Columbia Elementary School is a two-story, 130,520-square-foot educational facility thoughtfully designed to serve a growing student population of approximately 910 students.
The building program extends beyond traditional classrooms to include a full gymnasium, cafeteria, and state-of-the-art kitchen, all strategically integrated to support daily operations and enrich the student experience. The design emphasizes functionality, flexibility, and flow - creating spaces that encourage learning, collaboration, and community connection.
Safety, accessibility, and long-term adaptability were central to the design approach. The result is a forward-looking learning environment that supports academic achievement while remaining responsive to the evolving needs of students, educators, and the surrounding community.
Structurally, the facility utilizes load-bearing CMU walls with precast concrete floor systems at upper levels, complemented by light-gauge trusses and bar joists to accommodate long-span roof areas - delivering durability, efficiency, and constructability throughout.
