Designed to meet evolving school district standards, Lehigh Middle School is a modern educational facility that incorporates innovative structural solutions for safety, durability, and long-term functionality. TRC Worldwide Engineering provided structural engineering design, construction administration, and threshold inspection services for this 171,800-square-foot middle school.
The project utilized the district’s prototype middle school concept, with updates and modifications to comply with current building codes and evolving district requirements. The two-story gymnasium was specifically designed for enhanced hurricane protection, rated to withstand 200 MPH wind speeds, ensuring resilience in extreme weather conditions.
Constructed with tilt-wall concrete exterior walls, concrete-filled composite deck floors, and composite steel beams, the facility integrates efficient and cost-effective materials to support both structural integrity and long-term sustainability.
