Designed to accommodate IMG Academy’s growing student population, Student Residence Hall III is a five-story, 105,000-square-foot facility engineered for flexibility and expansion. TRC Worldwide Engineering provided structural engineering design and contract administration for this state-of-the-art student housing complex, which currently offers 500 beds with the capability to expand to 1,000 beds for IMG Academy’s summer programs.
Floors two through five feature five-room layouts furnished with bunk-style beds, desks, private bathrooms, and dedicated academic study rooms on each floor. The first-floor lounge area provides students with a toiletries and snack shop, a mail room, large-screen TVs, high-top seating, and relaxation spaces. Recreational amenities include a pool, foosball tables, ping pong tables, and a fitness area. The first floor also houses Campus Life and Health Services offices, along with a 24/7 Campus Safety desk in the lobby. The building is fully wireless and integrates a state-of-the-art security system for student safety.
The structure incorporates cast-in-place concrete, concrete masonry walls, and a precast concrete floor system, designed to withstand 130 MPH wind speeds for enhanced storm resilience.
