New United States Courthouse Rockford, Illinois

New United States Courthouse

The New Rockford County Courthouse will sit on two urban blocks as part of a plan to develop Rockford's Main Street area with a park like square along the riverfront. The 6 floor courthouse is similar in scale to surrounding buildings with views of the entire area from upper floors. The entrance lobby features a five story atrium allowing light into the interior of the building. ISC blast requirements were met through use of a combination of natural and cast stone, fitted glass and metal panels, all glazed into the curtain wall creating a layering of materials.
