TRC Worldwide Engineering, Inc. provided structural engineering design, construction administration and threshold inspection services on this $26 million research facility. The project consists of a new six-story, 200,000 square foot office and laboratory building and a 90,000 square foot addition to the existing parking garage, designed by us in 1994.

Key Structural Components
The floor system consists of reinforced concrete beams and a one-way, mild reinforced concrete slab
The lateral wind-resisting system consists of a combination of poured concrete shear walls and a concrete frame
A deep foundation system is necessary, consisting of auger-cast concrete piles
A key element of the design is a 130' tall tower feature with a cupola marking the entrance to the building
The building is designed for 125 psf live load and has vibration sensitive, microscope laboratories
